About Gala

GALA is the native utility token of Gala, a Web3 gaming and entertainment platform whose goal is to give players real ownership of in-game assets as NFTs rather than as entries in a publisher's database. The ecosystem has three layers: GalaChain, a proprietary Layer 1 blockchain launched in 2023; the GALA token economy; and a portfolio of games across strategy, shooter, and simulation genres, including Spider Tanks and Town Star. Gala started on Ethereum but migrated its core activity to GalaChain to cut gas costs and speed up in-game transactions, which were prohibitively expensive on Ethereum mainnet for the microtransaction volume that games generate. A distinctive part of the model is the node system: operators run licensed Founder's Node software that validates transactions and maintains uptime, and each day a capped amount of GALA is distributed proportionally among active nodes. Beyond games, Gala runs Gala Film and Gala Music, extending the same ownership model to film and music distribution.

What determines GALA's value

GALA value depends on gaming and entertainment activity across the Gala ecosystem, with node operators as a structural swing factor. Demand rises with in-game transactions, NFT marketplace volume, and new game launches, because those activities require GALA. Node operators complicate the picture, since they receive most daily emissions and their decision to hold or sell those rewards is a persistent source of supply pressure independent of demand.

The context is a difficult sector. The price is far below its November 2021 peak, which reflects the collapse of the 2021 play-to-earn mania and years of dilution from daily emissions. GalaChain adds a specific risk: as a newer Layer 1, its validator decentralization and security are less battle-tested than those of established chains. The bull case rests on whether new games and cross-chain activity produce enough transaction volume for in-game demand to matter.
