What is QNT?
About Quant
QNT is the access and utility token of Quant Network, a UK-based blockchain interoperability platform that enables enterprises and developers to connect multiple distributed ledgers through a single operating system called Overledger. Enterprises pay for Overledger licensing in fiat, which the system converts into QNT and locks in smart contracts for the duration of the licence — not staked for yield, not burned for deflation, but held as a conditional access deposit that exits circulation for as long as the licence is active. Quant Network was founded in June 2018 by Gilbert Verdian, a cybersecurity professional with prior roles at NHS England and the UK Cabinet Office.
QNT tokenomics
Quant uses a hard-capped, near-fully circulating supply model with no inflation mechanism and no ongoing minting. The fixed maximum supply of 14,612,493 QNT was set at launch and cannot increase. Approximately 14.54 million QNT were in circulation as of October 2026, according to CoinGecko — about 99.5% of the fixed maximum supply.
Hard cap — 14,612,493 QNT; no additional tokens can be minted; the supply ceiling is encoded at the protocol level
Circulating supply — approximately 14.54 million QNT as of October 2026, according to CoinGecko; the token is near-fully circulating with no large unlocked reserves remaining
Licence locking — enterprises deploying Overledger must lock QNT in smart contracts proportional to their licence tier for the contract duration; locked tokens leave circulating supply without being destroyed
Gateway and API fees — developers and gateway operators pay QNT usage fees that are held within the ecosystem, further reducing immediately liquid supply
No inflation — zero ongoing issuance; there are no block rewards, staking emissions, or treasury minting mechanisms
Treasury — Quant Network retains a treasury allocation from the original distribution; specific current balance is not publicly disclosed in real-time
What determines QNT's value
QNT's primary demand driver is enterprise licensing volume: every Overledger deployment requires QNT to be locked for the licence duration, which removes tokens from tradeable supply for months or years at a time. The more financial institutions, government agencies, and corporations build multi-chain applications on Overledger, the larger the aggregate locked balance — compressing effective circulating supply without requiring any burn events. UK Finance selected Quant in September 2025 to build the Great British Tokenised Deposit platform, with Barclays and HSBC among the pilot banks, and the first live customer transactions on it were announced on September 24, 2026, according to UK Finance. Quant was also the technology vendor for Project Rosalind, a 2023 retail CBDC experiment by the BIS Innovation Hub and the Bank of England, and presented its QuantNet settlement network for banks at Sibos 2025.
The secondary supply constraint is the token's absolute scarcity: at under 15 million units total, QNT holds one of the smallest circulating supplies of any top-100 asset by market capitalisation. New demand from even a single large enterprise deployment has a proportionally significant impact on available float. The medium-term catalyst is Overledger's alignment with ISO TC307 standards for blockchain interoperability, which positions the platform for regulated financial market infrastructure — a use case where licence-based token locking would be sustained over multi-year contract terms rather than short-term access.

Frequently Asked Questions About Quant (QNT)
QNT is the access and utility token for Overledger, the operating system that connects multiple distributed ledgers. Enterprises pay for licences in fiat, and the system converts the payment into QNT and locks it in smart contracts for the licence duration.
Neither. Licence QNT is locked as a conditional access deposit, so it leaves circulating supply while the licence is active but is not destroyed. It is not staked for yield.
14,612,493. The ceiling was set at launch, is encoded at the protocol level, and cannot increase, because there is no minting or block reward.
About 14.54 million as of October 2026, according to CoinGecko, which is about 99.5% of the maximum supply. Locked licence tokens and tokens held within the ecosystem reduce the part that is freely tradeable.
With under 15 million QNT in total, demand from even a single large enterprise deployment can have a proportionally large effect on available float. A small float also means price can move sharply in both directions.
Gilbert Verdian founded it in June 2018. He is a cybersecurity professional with earlier roles at NHS England and the UK Cabinet Office.
UK Finance selected Quant in September 2025 to build the Great British Tokenised Deposit platform; Barclays and HSBC are among the pilot banks, and the first live customer transactions were announced on September 24, 2026. Quant also supplied technology to the BIS Innovation Hub and the Bank of England for Project Rosalind in 2023. Pilots are not the same as revenue.
Developers and gateway operators pay QNT usage fees that are held within the ecosystem, which further reduces the immediately liquid supply.
It is the ISO technical committee for blockchain standards. Overledger's alignment with its interoperability standards positions the platform for regulated financial market infrastructure, where multi-year licences would keep QNT locked for longer.
Quant retains a treasury allocation from the original distribution, but the current balance is not publicly disclosed in real time.
