How Gnosis Transactions Work

GNO is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum mainnet, which means it is transferred and stored using standard Ethereum infrastructure. When you send GNO, the transaction is validated by Ethereum's Proof-of-Stake consensus, confirmed in approximately 12–15 seconds per block, and recorded permanently on-chain. Ethereum network fees (gas) are paid in ETH, so a small ETH balance in your wallet is required to cover transaction costs. GNO also exists as a native asset on Gnosis Chain itself, where it is used for staking and validator operations.
