Gram (ex Toncoin) Exchange – TONBEP20

The Open Network's native asset — currently called Gram, previously called Toncoin — can be bridged from its home chain to BNB Smart Chain through the official TON Bridge. When you bridge Gram to BSC, you receive TONBEP20: a BEP-20 token that tracks Gram's price and can be redeemed 1:1 for native GRAM by bridging back. The on-chain supply of TONBEP20 reflects exactly how much native GRAM is locked as collateral in the bridge contract.

On BNB Smart Chain, the token operates like any other BEP-20 asset. Gas is paid in BNB, not in GRAM. The token contract (0x76a797a59ba2c17726896976b7b3747bfd1d220f) has been live on BSC for several years and is verifiable on BscScan. Liquidity sits primarily in PancakeSwap pools, where TONBEP20 can be swapped against USDT, USDC, BNB, and other BSC tokens. Holders number over 118,000 on-chain.

The underlying asset is the same one that went through the Toncoin → Gram rebrand in June 2026. That rebrand changed the name and ticker on The Open Network, but the BEP-20 wrapper on BSC may still be labeled "Wrapped TON Coin" or "TONCOIN" on explorers and older integrations — it's the same position regardless of what the label says at any given point in the rollout.

Why People Exchange TONBEP20

The main reason someone holds TONBEP20 instead of native GRAM is environment familiarity. BSC users who are already deep in PancakeSwap, Venus Protocol, or other BNB Chain DeFi protocols don't necessarily want to spin up a Tonkeeper wallet and learn a new chain's mechanics just to get exposure to GRAM. Technical Notes for Exchanging TONBEP20

TONBEP20 is a BNB Smart Chain token, which means the receiving address must be a standard EVM address — a 42-character hex string beginning with 0x. This is the same format used by Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and every other EVM-compatible network. Any wallet that supports BSC will work: MetaMask with BNB Smart Chain added, Trust Wallet, Rabby, or a hardware wallet with BSC support.

Do not send TONBEP20 to a native TON address (the ones starting with EQ or UQ). They're not compatible networks, and the funds would be unrecoverable. Similarly, don't confuse the receiving address format with TONERC20, which also uses 0x addresses but lives on Ethereum rather than BSC — sending BSC tokens to an Ethereum address, or vice versa, without a bridge results in lost funds.
