About EURC

EURC is a euro-pegged E-Money Token (EMT) issued by Circle Internet Financial Europe SAS, a French electronic money institution authorized by France's Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR) in July 2024 under the EU's MiCA regulation. Regulated financial institutions hold reserves, and protocol participants mint and redeem EURC 1:1 against euros through Circle Mint — not through algorithmic stabilization, not through crypto collateral.

EURC tokenomics

EURC uses a fully reserved mint-and-burn supply model: each token enters circulation only when a corresponding euro is deposited into segregated reserve accounts, and each token is burned when the euro is redeemed. Circulating supply reached approximately 374 million EURC as of July 2026, according to on-chain data reflected on Swapzone's market data feed.

What determines EURC's value

EURC's 1:1 euro peg is maintained by the reserve structure, not by market forces: every token in circulation corresponds to a euro held in a segregated account at a French credit institution. Supply growth therefore tracks institutional and retail demand for on-chain euro liquidity rather than speculative inflows — and that demand accelerated sharply after MiCA's full enforcement across the EU drove non-compliant euro stablecoins off major exchanges, routing their liquidity into EURC. Circulating supply was about 434.2 million EURC on October 30, 2026, according to CoinGecko.

Physical-world distribution expanded in January 2026, when EURC became spendable at 40 million+ global retail locations through Ingenico via WalletConnect Pay, according to Circle's Q1 2026 report. Coinbase's native integration accelerates supply growth on Base specifically, while Stellar hosts EURC used by remittance partners for 24/7 Visa payment settlement.
